[SOLVED] "no signal", gf8800gts
Hi
I was installing new operating system on an old computer of my friends, just a minute ago, and using my primary display because didnt have another one. So i got ready, switched display cable back to my own computer but got "no signal" when windows loaded display drivers. I can run in safe mode, but the signal just disappears when i try to boot normally. And i didnt do anything but had the cable connected to another computer for an hour! So is my graphic card broken now? Or psu? or display? Thanks for any help... Oh, the card is geforce 8800 GTs. EDIT: i also swapped the same power cord between the computers, but that shouldnt have any effect either, right? Last edited by u551; 11-05-2008 at 10:55 AM. |

You can see the specs on the "My system" thing next to the avatar picture.
I got plenty of warranty left on components, just need to figure out what piece of hardware (if any) to take in - bought from different shops around the town :C |

Make sure power cable is attached to video card. Not a big fan
of cheiftec psu's. Make sure video card is seated in good and tight. May have loosened up. You would think that it would show no display at all, but you never know.

Re: "no signal", gf8800gts
Nevermind the last post, the program just didnt read temps correctly :P Anyways I just reseated the graphics adapter and checked power cables -> didnt help, still cant boot to windows normally (or I can, but the display just doesnt follow). Going to test parts on another computer when I get access to one....

Re: [SOLVED] "no signal", gf8800gts
Prime suspect = Chieftec = very weak power supply brand. Do you know someone who has another one you can try?
