Radeon 9550 Problems.
I recently bought a ATI Radeon 9550 256MB. I did this because my pervious graphics card was only a nvida MX440.
Anyway, I uninstalled my previous drivers, installed the card, downloaded the latest ATI drivers, and I still have a problem. To start with, the icons have lines across them. ![]() After that, I noticed that some cursors (The crosshair, And the crosshair you get when hovering over text) have a single 1px thick black line to the right side of them. Lastly, I run a game, GunZ: The Duel, which ran fine under my MX440, and there was these "lines", just like on the icons, all over the interface, and the game maps were severelay distorted, with simple rocks taking up the whole screen, texture strectching, and other problems. Does anyone have a solution or some help? Last edited by Aristrum; 11-05-2008 at 07:55 AM. |

If you want a screenshot of the game messing up, download 3 of them here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/hl6cpj

Re: Radeon 9550 Problems.
Thank you. :)
Well, The motherboard is an AsRock K7VM4 ( http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7VM4 ) I'm using WIndows XP Sp3, and everything worked fine with my previous card, thanks for your quick reply. EDIT: I looked up a bit about artifacts, and it apparently it can just be a bad chip? Or could there be something else which has caused the problem? Last edited by Aristrum; 11-05-2008 at 02:07 PM. |

Re: Radeon 9550 Problems.
Try it with the drivers that came with the card and not the latest. Sometimes the best drivers are the older ones. Also , you can use speedfan , everest , or riva tuner to check the gpu temperature , make sure it does not exceed 70-75c.
