4850 stuttering in games very badly.
I have a visiontek 4850 which which was just put into my system which includes an asus 780g board with a good 520 watt PSU and a 65nm X2 4400+ chip, 4 gig's ram, vista 32bit.
removed old drivers, installed newest officials which were 8.9 tried a few games and the first minute or so usually goes fine but then it starts freezing during gameplay quite frequently and eventually crashing the game out. Checked out temps and they were in the 80's. I thought well this is pretty freaking hot so i touched the card and the hsf was scorching hot. so i got a utility that controls fan speed and upped it to 50%. Great temps went down to 50's. The freezing problems with games still occurs the same though. i have tried newer beta 4.10 drivers and get the same result. I'm at a loss and cant get ahold of visiontek tech support. |

Its and acepower 520 watt. Should be more than enough for this rig. Well over 30 amps on both the 12 and 5 rails. This card was in an identical rig before and worked flawlessly.

Acepower? Yea I thought that may be it. Acepower isn't to great a powersupply and 520 is low even if it was a good brand. The powersupply will work fine when Its new but will easily die off after a few weeks of running maxed out.
