I have a 9800GTX+ OC that I want to SLI,does the 2nd card need to be exactly same?

I have a BFG 9800GTX+OC 512MB & I want to get a second. Does the second GPU have to be exactly the same for it to work in SLI?Someone told me that I can use any of the GTX+ series as they all use the same cores.I would just like to get a second opinion.

Reason I ask is when I bought my 9800GTX+OC not that long ago I got it for £145 but apparently theres been a bit of a problem for my local suppliers in getting hold of the BFG cards so as a result they have put there prices up to £187.I don't think I can bring myself to pay that price when for an extra £7 I can get a 260.The other card I was looking at to SLI with my current one is the XFX Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ XXX PLUS 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express 2.0 DDR3 Graphics Card - PV-T98W-YDD4.The core on this one is a bit faster than mine.My current cards core is 760MHz where as thisone is 775MHz.Any help would be appreciated.

They have to be the same GPU they will both slow down to the lowest cards speeds, unless your running a large screen monitor I don't think it's worth it.
Also on the 9800GTX oc needs at least 180w so if you add one make sure your power supply is up to the task.
