What GTX 260 should I get!!??
So I have settled on a Nvidia GTX 260 manufactured by EVGA (they seem to have a very good reputation, and ratings that show it) for the new computer that I will soon be building, but which one to get!?
The three specs that vary are the: Core Clock: 576 - 666MHz Stream processors: 192 - 216 Memory Clock: 1998 - 2214 MHz So which of these is the most important? What specs should I be looking to trade for others? I have like 6 models that have specs between those numbers, and all have ratings of 5 (out of 5) with the exception of one, but it only had one review so far. The cards I am looking at vary from $230-$310 after rebates ect from newegg. Any guidance would be of great help, Thanks. |

Re: What GTX 260 should I get!!??
They are all very good cards so you really cant go wrong. Basically some come as standard and some are overclocked. Usually if they are overclocked they will have OC at the end or OC2. I have also noticed that my local supplier has got hold of some maxcores which I beleive have 24 more processing cores. Its really up to you but as for those numbers you quoted rule of thumb higher is better.Have you tried googling 260 benchmark results?
Anyway good luck I'm toying with the idea of getting a 260. Currently I have a 9800GTX+ & I was going to buy another one of those to SLI it(Put two cards together on same motherboard)but the price of the particular one I have has gone up by £40. For an extra £7 I can buy a 260 so I'm wandering whether to start again and buy a 260 & then another in the near future.Decisions decisions..... You know radeon have some great cards right? The prices are extremely competitive and they have the fastest card on the market at the minute, maybe another thing to think about.Take care. |
