nVidia Geforce 6150SE

I know it's integrated, but how well does or should it run WoW? The problem I fear is that you need Hardware T&L, which integrated cards don't have (or at least I don't think it has). My parents have a 4-year old EMachines desktop that can run WoW laggy with everything set to low, and that's with a 64MB integrated card and 508MB of RAM or something (it's less RAM than the minimum requirements recommend). The PC I'm getting exceeds everything except with that card, unless the integrated card has hardware T&L which I don't think it does.

So, how should it fare?

Re: nVidia Geforce 6150SE

First off, integrated graphics aren't ever a good idea to try to play on. They don't get all the dedicated resources a video card has.

First off... whats the specs of all the stuff on your new computer? Ram and processor(s) speed.

If you have above 1gb ram, and your processor (which will probably be dual core) has above 2.0 ghz (combined, if its not above 2.0ghz with a dual core your in trouble!) your fine.

now for the integrated graphics... MAYBE medium settings to get 30 FPS.

In all honesty good sir, upgrade the video.

If you can cough up another $100, that'll be more than enough to get you a card to play WoW on max settings with good FPS.

I am running a comp with a Geforce 7600GS 512mb, 1gb ram, ~2.3Ghz Dual Core AMD 5200 Processor, and I run WoW maximum settings 30 FPS in raids\cities, 60 FPS out in the wild. Nothing really to brag about, but my point is I play WoW very comfortably with this computer.

I DO NOT recommend a Geforce 7600GS\GT. The one I have in my computer has a faulty fan, and I am using a pci fan to cool it right now while waiting for my RMA to be processed. This is my second card with a fan problem too, so unless its only the evga 7600's with this problem, do not get that card.

Here is a PNY Geforce 8800GT 512 MB, this puppy will power you through WoW (and many other current games, don't know about crysis.). But I bet you could get 45-60 FPS in raids with that card. I've heard nothing but good about the 8800 cards.

edit: answered the actual question :P

Re: nVidia Geforce 6150SE

Ok, computer I'm getting is a Compaq Presario SR5610F, with has dualcore 2.5GHz AMD processor (I think it's 2.5GHz. I know it's above 2.0GHz per core), 3GB DDR2 RAM, Vista 32bit, onboard everything else, 250W PSU.

If you have a Graphics card that'll fit inside the Compaq and meets the 250W PSU requirement, please let me know. Otherwise, if you'd take a look at the rig here:

and let me know of a decent PSU and graphics card that'll fit inside it. I'm horrible with PSUs, and last thing I want is to order one and a graphics card and find out I can't get them in my computer

Re: nVidia Geforce 6150SE

This is an upgrade I'm looking at in the future, not anytime really soon, so I'm not really worried about the price. Granted I don't want a 1000W PSU. I'm not planning on upgrading my processor anytime soon, just adding a video card, so basically a PSU capable of running a nice-medium level vid. card. I want to be able to play WoW, Spore, and Oblivion flawlessly.

When you say flawlessly , do you mean at the highest possible settings or just decent workable settings. I would say a 550w psu and a 9600gt would work for you.
