This might help you!

ATI Radeon HD 4850 System Requirements
PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard
450 Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended (550 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to http://ati.amd.com/certifiedPSU for a list of Certified products
Minimum 1GB of system memory
Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
DVD playback requires DVD drive
Blu-ray™ playback requires Blu-ray drive
For a complete ATI CrossFireX™ system, a second ATI Radeon™ HD 4850 graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable per graphics card (included) are required

I can't think of any other compatibility issues...

P.S. By the way, I'm from America!

Yes, your motherboard has one PCI-E x 16 slot.

Re: Ati 4850

I dont know about regional compatibility issues, but keep in mind that 4850s have a reputation as a heater. Search under 4850s and heat issue both here and on newegg.com (an online seller with lots of customer reviews for products) and you'll do yourself some good by following the recommendations. It's a great card - just keep it cool.

Oh and one last thing - make sure you have a great power supply. Sniff around these forums about that too. I'd tell you more but I'm am running out of time here and I cannot recall the particular information about power supplies. But watch the total wattage output of the power supply and the amps available on the "12 volt rail(s)".

Oh and the specs above state you need a 450w supply for one card. That doesnt mean your supply should be a 450w supply - it should be far greater than 450w. Like I said, search around here for the particulars.

Good luck.

Re: Ati 4850

hmm.. okaay.. so how do i keep it cool? you have to keep in mind that i live in pakistan. and its hard to get hold of good power supplies. mostly we have to do with watever we have available. same goes for the whole cooling process..

n last.. another big problem that i just came across.. is that 4850's dont seem to have a VGA monitors support.. they have a DVI-I output.. does this mean ill have to get a new monitor aswell? :S

Re: Ati 4850

no the 4850's if he is shipping it in a box that he bought it in, should come with adapters for dvi, vga, etc ...

to keep it cool there is something called a Fan Hack for the ATi 4000 series cards ... the stock fan speeds don't really cut it, it will run hot ...

also yea the power supply is a must or it will not run the card at all

Re: Ati 4850

I wouldn't really call it a hack, in the Catalyst Control Center you set the default fan speed to 60 or 70%.
For a 4850 card the normal recommendation would be for a quality 650w power supply.

Seasonic - any model
Corsair - any model
Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only
Coolermaster - "Real Power Pro" series only
PC Power & Cooling - any model
Silverstone - any model
