ASUS EAHSilent w/ ATI Catalyst Control
Aside from not having features of my old Matrox Dualhead Max it's not too bad. However, applications which start in my 2nd display, particularly AutoCAD, have their toolbars, when initially displayed, appear in the upper left corner of the 1st display. Once relocated, they "remember" where they're suppose to appear. Is this a default operation of ATI Catalyst or a resolvable problem?
Also, in the Add/Remove feature in control panel, just below the listing for the ATI display driver, there is enough white space to show over 300 programs. Then, below this white space is the list of all my other programs. As this installed programs list is probably somewhere in the registry, will the white space be there also as a bunch of blank program entries? Yes, I've done the re-intall stuff, etc... ATI won't respond. OS...XP w/ SP2 / ATI Radeon 3650 Last edited by shdesign; 10-01-2008 at 02:55 PM. |

I wouldn't worry about the blank spaces if your not actually having any problems.
And the thing with the applications , all videocards do it , its a windows thing. Where ever you last left the program no matter what it is it will show up wherever you last left it.

Re: ASUS EAHSilent w/ ATI Catalyst Control
Re: the programs. I think you miss understood me/I wasn't clear. What you said in your reply is what I do want AutoCAD to do, and it's not. When I shut it done and then restart it, all the non-displaying toolbars seem to have a default location where they will re-appear; the upper left corner of the 1st display. They are not re-appearing where I last left them upon program shutdown. That's the problem.

Re: ASUS EAHSilent w/ ATI Catalyst Control
No..It seems to do this with any program that has moveable toolbars. However, the difference between each application varies with respect to location of toolbar display. PSP 7.0 had toolbars re-appear at various locations irrespective of the display. MSWord had toolbars remain in the display where they last appeared but would change shape from a long single row toolbar to a forshortened 3 row toolbar, and, not consistently either. Sometimes Word's toolbars would reappear in original form in original locations. Other times not.

Re: ASUS EAHSilent w/ ATI Catalyst Control
Well I don't really know how to fix it then. Dual monitors is not really a comon thing for most people to have so I imagine the programs just automatically display the tools on the main screen so that you don't loose them. Or they where never programed to appear off the main screen.
