problems with VISIONTEK radeon x1950 pro XGE AGP

i had it for a while now and it seems that im not getting the right power that i paid for this gfx card
im guessing its my processor because it says that i need Intel® Pentium® 4/Celeron™, AMD®
Duron/Athlon®/Athlon XP®, Athlon 64,
compatible with AGP 8x (0.8v) bus configuration
and i have a bad amd semp 1
if its not im not sure what it is then because a 450 watt power supply
but when i tried to get the new drivers from visiontek.com for my gfx card it wouldnt run right like it would be like it is with the wrong drivers all laggy at startup and choppy on iexplorer ( because i did that before :) )
its just bugging me cuz my friend has a worse card than me and he gets constant fps and mine goes around every where so bad
PLEASE help i cant stand paying this much for this card and having it bad
any questions ask me

Well revert back to the drivers you were using before it became laggy.

Also , the sempron was amd's budget cpu a while back and is equivalent to intel's celeron. It is actually pretty slow. Also , a x1950 should have a quality 500w or higher so that could effect it as well.

Well by rebuild you should get a new cpu , a few years ago I bought a pentium d 2.8 for 80$ , that is equivelent to two 2.8ghz pentium 4's. Just trying to give you an idea as to where your cpu is stacked nowadays , and if it is really 1.3ghz that really is going to effect games alot.

Re: problems with VISIONTEK radeon x1950 pro XGE AGP

yea i can tell
i got like 1 gb ram
over 800 gb hd space cuz i make CS movies
and i would say the things that are the worse on my comp is the processor and motherboard.
i was wondering since we are talking
do you think the shuttle case would be ok ? you no the shuttle comps im assuming
because i take my comp from place to place a lot and it seems pretty nice and 1 of my friends who plays counter-strike uses it and he says its good

Well that's your personal preference and I can't really tell you if you like them or not. All i can say is get one with very good airflow. I personally think there stupid.

But yes do have a barebone upgrade done to the pc.

Re: problems with VISIONTEK radeon x1950 pro XGE AGP

Well thats also is personal preference and your budget. I would get intel just because a good intel board will support more cpu's down the road and there easier to figure out what cpu you really got. I get so mixed up with athlons and x2's and different numbers at the end which don't match the speed. lol

Next problem your going to have is finding a modern board to support a Core2 Duo and a AGP card as most now are PCIEx 16
