ATI 4800 drivers + Vista = fail to boot
greetings,
for the past 2 days I am facing terrible driver issues with my new pc. To make it short here's how it goes. System --------- CPU: Intel 9550 Quad Core MB: MSI P45D3 Platinum GPU: Sapphire 4870 1GB At first I installed windows vista (ultimate ed. 64 bit) tried the manufactured drivers provided and when their installation was complete, I was asked to restart the system. Upon booting windows though I got a blue screen telling me something about display drivers and then system rebooted on and on at this very same stage until I entered safe mode, uninstalled the drivers so as to enter normal mode again and try another version. So far I have tested about 15 different driver versions in all combos (plain driver, driver+Catalyst, older driver, cracked versions etc.) but still no result. So I thought the 64-bit vista was causing the prob. 1 day later my new 32-bit Win Vista ultimate was set and the same problem issues still occured, once the drivers were installed and the system restarted, windows would not boot. Please enlighten me, any help really appreciated Last edited by Thermanshs; 09-30-2008 at 01:49 PM. |
