pc crashes after x amount time.
Hello,
About a month ago I ordered the components to build my new PC. It was the first time I was building my own computer. I put everything together and all seemed to work fine (except for the reset button that doesn't work, but I can live with that). The problems started yesterday. My computer was on all day (for remote desktop), I come home, start playing a game and suddenly the screen goes black and says 'no signal, check signal cable'. After rebooting the PC crashes again. I've checked all the connections and replaced the signal cable but the PC crashes again and keeps doing that every time I start it. The time at which it crashes seems totally random. Sometimes during start up, sometimes right after start up, sometimes 15 minutes after starting up. I have a feeling my video card is causing the problem. I have a Sapphire Radeon HD3850 512 Mb and a MSI P35 Neo-F iP35 motherboard. I managed to update the video card driver before it crashed but nothing changes. Can anyone help me fixing this problem? And how do I determine it's indeed my video card that's doing this? Could it be a virus? I have McAfee VirusScan Enterprise with the latest update. Help is much appreciated. |
