[SOLVED] DVD Blue Screen

I recently installed a PNY Verto GeForce 9600GT in my Dell XPS 400. I also added in 2gigs of ram (3 total) and a Stealth X Stream 500W power supply to compensate for it.
Now when I try to play ANY DVD in any player it automatically goes to the blue screen saying my system had to shut down to avoid damage, etc. I've tried Media Center, Windows Media Player, and CinEplayer.
The driver for my graphics card is up to date as of a week or two ago. Any ideas on what is causing this, and how to fix it? Thanks!

Re: DVD Blue Screen

I think the requirements for a 9600 are closer to the 750w mark. You may still be having a power shortage.

Re: DVD Blue Screen

I can play a lot of PC games, I'm not sure if that's an indication of me having enough power though. I can run Mass Effect just fine,as well as BF2142, Supreme Commander, and ETQW

Re: DVD Blue Screen

there is a setting in cini player that causes the problem with the drivers on the card, you have to disable it in cini player goto home , settings..dvd...video..and turn OFF hardware acceleration (DXVA). that will stop your pc from crashing.

now i havnt figured out media center or movie maker yet, but i wasnt worried about it .
hope this gets you by for now =)
