XFX 7600 GT problems
Hi all
Basically, my PC (or the OS) isn't recognizing my graphics card. I had some issues with corrupted files that necessitated having to reinstall my OS. About the same time, my PC stopped recognising my graphics card. After reinstalling the OS, all drivers (yes including the latest driver from the manufacturer), the card still isn't being recognized. The only adapter shown in the device manager is the onboard 6100. After restarting my PC last week, the 7600 was detected and PNP installed - it appeared to be working fine. The system restarted, and it disappeared. I checked the PCI and bridge drivers - they are all good. I've removed the card, replaced it, but to no avail. Any ideas?? Any help much appreciated! |

Re: XFX 7600 GT problems
Try removing the card and cleaning the contacts with a clean pencil type eraser and blowing the slot out with a can of compressed air, if it still won't see the card then try disabling the onboard video in the bios.

Re: XFX 7600 GT problems
This is a dumb question, but are you connecting the monitor's cable to your 7600GT?

Re: XFX 7600 GT problems
Yes. The 7600 had been working fine for about 12 months (with my monitor plugged into the 7600). It was when I booted and the 7600 wasn't being recognised (blank screen) that I plugged into the mobo output to actually see what was going on. Went into device manager and there no reference to the 7600, just the 6100 chipset on the mobo.

Re: XFX 7600 GT problems
Alrighty. I've tried all of those suggestions (cleaning the contacts, blowing out the socket, etc etc)
I've tried disabling the onboard graphics chipset in the BIOS, and even trying a completely different card that is known to work. My system STILL isn't recognising a graphics card in the PCI Express socket at all. Maybe it's my mobo?? All the system driver appear to be working fine and installed properly. Any other suggestions??
