its a couple miles. thats not too bad
but stores like bestbuy or circuit city wont carry it right?

Best Buy might but their sales staff often lead you down the wrong path and push low quality store brands like RocketFish because they don't know any better.
Circuit City seems to have newer cards and components only and are more into the PC sales then components.
