[SOLVED] Problems with Video Card.

My old card (an Geforce FX5200 128MB) recently died, due to heatsink issues, so I have been running my onboard graphics for now, today I managed to get a hold of a Geforce 5700 256MB.
I have plugged it into the VGA slot and plugged my monitor in and nothing, my monitor stays on stand by, windows is not even detecting a new graphics card in place.
I have tried installing the drivers (I have already uninstalled the old ones) and it's not letting me, giving me a message along the lines of "Drivers cannot detect any hardware"
It's strange because once I turn the PC on the fan on the Graphics card starts spinning, so it's getting some power.
It just seems like the card can't be found at all.

So does it seem like my VGA slot is damaged?
I'm running Windows XP SP2, a P4 with 2.93GHZ, and 1GB of RAM

Thanks in advance.

Re: Problems with Video Card.

My PSU is by Enhance Electronics and is 240 watts.

Last night a friend brought me his old Nvidia 6200 128MB,(which is heatsinked, not fan powered) once plugged into the AGP slot and powered up, the monitor is turning on but all I'm getting is a flickering white screen with bit of black flickering too, which is my advent loading screen I imagine.

Re: Problems with Video Card.

Thanks for the info.
I've managed to track down a FX5200 128mb with a fan, and it seems to work just fine!
