Help me with new video card!!!
Ok so I bought WoW and found out I needed a video card, my computer apparently did not have one. I then went online and bought:
xfx GeForce fx 5200 PCI My computer is pentium 4, 3 ghz and has 1 gb of ram and is PCI (I dont know much about comps but I figured this was important to know) The directions say I need to use my "bios" and disable current on board graphics settings...how do I do this? I am all frustrated that I am having so much trouble getting this all to work :( |

Re: Help me with new video card!!!
Your bios is the small bit of software you see before windows boots. Its the white text with black background you see before the xp loading screen appears. You get into it either by hitting the delete key or one of the F keys before the windows loading screen. It will actually say what key to hit to enter the bios. You must hit that key before windows starts loading or else you will need to reset the pc and try again. Once your in it , only the keyboard will contol the settings. You need to find a setting that says "pci video" or somthing along those lines and enable it. Then install the card and connect the monitor to it.
Also try installing the card first and connecting the monitor to it without going into the bios , somtimes they automatically set up or are already configured for the card. Also If you could post the make and model pc that would help more.
