Do I need a new video card or what?

Hi. I play onlinegames, like WoW, but recently it messes my screen up badly. Like I go ingame, after 2 min or so, all my colours are messed up, I can't see anything, everything freezes sort of. I can't even go back to windows, I have to do a complete shutdown or reset the machine and then start all over again. This is sooo annoying. Before buying a lot of new stuff, I thought I would try to ask here, about what could be the problem.

These are some of my components:

* AMD Athlon XP3000+ 2.1 GHz: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=123282

* PowerColor Radeon 9200 256MB DDR: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=122748

* Asus A7N8X-X hovedkort for Socket A: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=118692

Thank you in advance :)

Re: Messed up!!!

Anyone who can help me pls? :) See a lot of viewers but no responders :P

btw, I can see that the upper graphic card and the one found in Dxdiag isn't the same. Think my ex did it while I wasn't looking.

Re: Messed up!!!

Omg...I was trying to update my graphic card, and now my computer or screen look like it's from the '70s'. Why is this new update messing with my screen this way? is there anything I can do to get it back to the good graphic it was at least? even though I can't play a game for 2 min, it's nice to see these posts or replies in better quality *cry*

Re: Messed up!!!

Can anyone pls help me with this? I just changed my Power Supply, cause it made a strange noice, so thought maybe that was the problem, but apparantly it isn't... my graphics are still messed up about 2 min inside the game, which is really annoying. Is it even worth putting anything on this site? no one seems to be able to give me some clue to what my problem might be....although I have a hunch, i don't wanna spend a lot of money on buying a whole new computer if there is only one thing which needs to be changed :)

Re: Messed up!!!

Have you tried downloading Riva tuner to check the temps? That might be causing the problem. Or you might just need a new graphics card. If you know anyone that has a spare graphics card lying around and if its compatible with your motherboard ask if you could borrow it and download the drivers.

Re: Messed up!!!

Thanks, I will try that :) Yes, I've downloaded something called Hmonitor to check my temps on the machine. It seems ok.

Problem with my motherboard atm is that it's hard to get a graphics card that suits it anymore, would prob have to buy it online or something. But you're right, I'll try to ask a friend first, if I can't get one, i will need to buy a new motherboard to go with a new graphics card :/ bah hehe

Thanks again :)
