Computer freezes when gfx drivers installed

Hey all,

Recently built a new system from scratch, everything absolutely fine until i installed the graphics card drivers, at which point the system began hanging anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes after booting.

Went for an OS reinstall first and this time installed Vista 32-bit instead of XP, however experiencing exactly the same issue with Vista. If i run the computer in safe mode, or with the drives uninstalled the computer runs fine.

I have tried swapped out the RAM, RAM slots, PSU and GFX card with known working ones but no help. I have installed drivers off manufacturer cd and off the website but exactly the same issue.

The computer has the following components
Gigabyte EP35-DS4P
Intel E7200
Leadtek 8800GT
Kingston 2x1 800hmz
Coolermaster 600w psu

Tried contacting Gigabyte and Leadtek but they both will not contact me. Anyone know what i should be looking for here ?

Re: Computer freezes when gfx drivers installed

I take it this is not a commonly experienced problem. Is it possible this is just a motherboard fault ?
