BSOD Problems

Hi Everyone, I'm having tons of BSOD crashes on my computer. If I run the XFX 8800GT Alpha dog on a 430 watts PSU, will it damage the video card? Then sometimes, when I exit off Crysis, my system crashes. When I crank the crysis settings to high, will it damage the card since my PSU is low? Please leave comments.

System Specs:
-Windows VIsta Home Premium SP1 32 bit
-Asus P5N E SLI motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz 1333 FSB
-XFX 8800GT 512 GDDR3 Alpha Dog Edition
-Two 300 GB Hard Drives
-2 GB RAM
-Thermaltake 430 watts Power Supply
-Two DVD-ROM drives Combo

If you guys say if my PSU is low, how many watts should I buy?

Re: BSOD Problems

YES, it can damage the video card, the motherboard, the memory, etc.....I advise you not to run this rig until you get at least a 650 watt power supply from this list of brands for quality supplies.

Seasonic – Any Model
Corsair – Any Model
PC Power & Cooling – Any Model
Thermaltake – “Toughpower” Series Only
Coolermaster – “Real Power Pro” Series Only
Silverstone – Any Model

Re: BSOD Problems

If it gets damaged, how many months, days, or weeks does it take for the video card to be damaged? Well it still survive in December, because I'm might be getting a stronger power supply by then.

Re: BSOD Problems

You have to make that decision, but I would not use it if it were mine. Just too risky because most of the components it could damage cost more than a great power supply, so then you have to not only buy the new supply, but the components as well. Sorry, to have to give you the bad news.
