Need help, Video card not being detected!!

Okay, so I had a geforce 6150 integrated graphics card and I bought an 8600 GT to play the higher end games

yesterday I was able to get it to work, i installed the drivers and everything and disabled the 6150.

i played lots of games and stuff, and had it on for a long time

before sleeping i turned off the computer

today when I woke up and turned it on, my screen went blank! So I stuck the monitor plug from my 8600 gt back to the motherboard one and it worked, I went to the bios and made sure that the card it uses is the PCI-e one instead of the PCI or the onboard one, stuck the monitor plug back into 8600 GT and it still didn't work!!!

what I noticed is that even though the 8600 gt is still inside, my computer doesn't detect it anymore!! Yesterday before i even installed the drivers and stuff it detected the graphics card. today its not doing it anymore.. i dunno why. btw, the 8600 is still running inside the computer, i can tell because the fan is running fine..

someone please help me! i'm really depressed right now =(

I think u have to un install the drivers .take out graphic card ,restart the comp ,then switch the comp off ,put in the graphic card then it should state it has found new hardware then re install drivers

this is not the problem i already uninstaled the drivers for the 6150 LE

i think it might have something to do with the cable i got with the card, i think it might be a power connector, but i am unsure on how to plug it in.. someone help please =(

edit: do u mean the drivers for the geforce 8600? i cant do that because its not even in the device managers but i will try removing the graphics card and then putting it back in...

didn't work.. i tried taking it off and putting it back in.. still doesnt detect it =(

What power supply are you using? PCI-E requires 26A minimum output on the +12V rail to function without any problems. And I'm pretty sure 8600GTs don't need auxiliary power.

I dunno but it came with a cable which im sure is a 4-pin. I don't know how to connect it so i'm bringing a friend over.

im sure its not a PSU problem because it was working perfectly fine 2 days ago and its working even now.. the fan is going on but its not being detected
