Re: Gforce 7300LE 512mb vs ATI X550 256mb
Hi,
I like these charts........ http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ You'll see the X550 scores 116 http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx550/specs.html and the 7300LE scores 72 http://www.nvidia.com/object/7_series_techspecs.html Vista may actually like the 7300 better, but the X550 is a much better card and was a great bargain for ordinary systems when first introduced. |

Re: Gforce 7300LE 512mb vs ATI X550 256mb
Hi, Vish
Would do no harm to try your other card, just remember to uninstall the nVidia drivers completely before installing the ATI ones. Those setup files and drivers do not like one another. I do agree however with Emosun, as far as just running Vista is concerned. The 7300LE has more features; but sadly not the best with gaming graphics/performance. The Vista Experience scores are not to be seen as a definitive guide as to how good your system hardware is, believe me. It gave a higher score to the onboard graphics in my Vista PC, than it did for the the 7600GS card I installed. But, the onboard graphics card could not play any decent games (total darkness) and the 7600GS could. My advice is, ignore the Vista scores and judge your cards on the performance they give doing the things you want them to do. (and don't put much faith in the "scores" posted by other folk on the web. These scores can be falsified very easily) http://www.shareyourscore.com/Default.aspx http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RZsHGEGF_9k Last edited by Houndog777; 08-23-2008 at 04:25 AM. |
