Agp
Hey I have a Dell Dimension 8100 XP P4. Question is that when I boot up the CPU nothing comes on the screen, I checked the video slot (AGP) with 5 different cards and I get the same results. I know it only means the slot is bad but am I missing something, could it be the motherboard or can I switch over to a PCI slot? can anyone help

Re: Agp
Hello DennisRT and welcome to TSF...
Did you try your graphic card on other PC??? Unplug all components from Motherboard except CPU, RAM and graphic and try to boot... Take out RAM too and clean contacts with rubber + DIMM slots with brush... Clean AGP slot with compressed air or with brush... Check out capacitors on Motherboard if they are popped or if they leaking... would be nice to provide us with your system specifications... Report back please... |
