Nvidia GeForce 6200 Issues
Hi, I recently purchased and installed a Nvidia GeForce 6200 in my computer. I followed the instructions to the letter but when I started my computer up it was the lowest resolution and in 4-bit. I tried every possible solution to this problem, and there is one pressing question that I have, apart from general help of the problem. For a PCI card, does the slot you put it in matter? I put my card in slot 2, but some accounts say that it has to be in slot 1. Is this true? Also, I have all drivers and this card is compatible with my computer. My BIOS says that the Primary Video Display is on Auto. I try to move it to PCI but it only goes Auto or On-Board. Speaking of that, my on board card is disabled. I'm running a Phoenix BIOS, and have a Dell 0F5949 motherboard. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I didn't see any noticable power supply port like the pictures in the manual showed, so I'm assuming it doesn't take any additional power.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 6200 Issues
Did you download & install the latest nVidia GeForce Release 175 driver?
What does Device Manager display under Display adapters? Have you gone into nVidia Control Panel (via icon in Taskbar Tray)?

Re: Nvidia GeForce 6200 Issues
Yes, I have the latest Driver.
Under Display Adapters it says Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller and Nvidia GeForce 6200. I have disabled the Intel Controller but that did nothing. I went into the Nvidia Control Panel, but I accidentally hit the Standard Setup button and haven't been able to access it again. |
