Hi,
did the nVidia setup ask you to configure your tv upon startup after the driver installation?

Re: TV problem, nvidia 7900 gto, driver 175.19

Hi

Mind if I ask how? Would love to know because I can't figure it out.

In Set up Multiple displays I can only chose "Only use one single display" :(

thanks

Re: TV problem, nvidia 7900 gto, driver 175.19

I think you should uninstall and reinstall your drivers.
The install has obviously not picked up that you have a tv attached. Have the tv connected and switched on when you reinstall.

What do you mean by "I'm on windows vista 64 bit (updated)."?
Do you mean you have all the latest updates?

I presume you had your TV working before installing the new hard drive; what driver release did you use?

Re: TV problem, nvidia 7900 gto, driver 175.19

I think I used the one before 175, 16x something.

I just tried with the latest beta, 177.66 but that didnt help with this problem eather.

About windows, yes all updates are installd.

This is very werid and annoying :/

Why not try the 169.25 release?
nVidia are pretty poor these days with their drivers IMHO.

Remember to disable any anti-virus or other non-windows programs before the install.

Re: TV problem, nvidia 7900 gto, driver 175.19

Strange. It should really give you the multiple display options even if a tv or extra monitor is not connected.

How about disconnecting the TV and reinstalling the drivers without it? You tried that?
BTW, you have been uninstalling from Control Panel> Programs & Features, then restarting in Low Resolution Mode and cancelling any windows search for drivers, haven't you?
Don't mean to question your ability, it's just that this is really strange.

Yeah I find it very strange too.

"How about disconnecting the TV and reinstalling the drivers without it? You tried that?"
Did that yesterday, did it again, didnt help.

When I installed the new drivers I used the setup in the driver.

The most weird part however is that it was working before.

How about the Add New Hardware wizard? Try to force it to recognise the tv.
And even an uninstall of the monitor from Device Manager and restart. Gotta try everything because this is not normal behaviour.

Re: TV problem, nvidia 7900 gto, driver 175.19

I tried the device manager to try and get some reaction but nothing.

My card does not feed 1080p movies at all nearly (when it worked) and 720p with some glitches, so maybe it's time for me to by a new card anyway, have been thinking about it.

Thanks a lot for your help thou, nice with people who makes an effort to try and help other people.

Could always try a physical uninstall.
Remove the drivers etc, shut down, remove the card, check it looks ok, start without it, shut down, reinstall card and restart etc
