Re: What Card ?

What expansion slots does your PC have? PCI, AGP and PCIe? PCIe is the popular slot for most new video cards.

Please post your Power Source's make and wattage, as it plays a significant role in determining your systems capacity to handle a new video card. You may end up having to upgrade the card and your PSU at the same time to avoid stability and performance problems.

Re: What Card ?

Hi Mayweather welcome to the forum
I think we may be missing some parts of your model number as it shows on searches as anything from a Pentium 3 to an AMD 2.8 system,
However I believe you have a PCIEx16 slot and could go to either card if your power supply is large enough also note normally video card and power supply upgrades go together the more powerful the card the more power it needs
If you could find the complete model number we can look it up to make sure which system you have and explore this further.

Re: What Card ?

Yes that info will do, you do indeed have a PCIEx16 slot for the 8600 card I would recommend no less than a good quality 550 watt power supply with 26 amps on the 12 volt rail and for the 8800 card at least a 650 watt with 32 amps on the 12v rail these are minimum recommendations for casual gamming with 650 and 750 watt units for heavy gaming . Corsair, Seasonic, Antec (trio models only), Coolermaster (toughpower pro models only) are the recommended quality units.
A link to your manual.
