HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro with ICEQ, CANT BOOT!
Hi fellas, I recently purchased a HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro AGP 8x for my computer, I took out my old video card (PNY Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR) inserted the new one, connected it to my Powersupply and attempted to start my computer, it made a few preliminary noises but never got to the POST i think, instead all the Fans kept spinning and nothing showed up on my screen. I am pretty sure my Powersupply meets the 450 Watt recommended by the manufacturer so I fear it might be a dead card or a compatibility issue. (switching Nvidia to ATI would that cause issues?) I have already tinkered around with BIOS stuff to disable the onboard video processing, but wouldn't that be mute considering my old Videocard works fine with it how it is? what do you recommend I try next
Here are my Specs thanks in advance ![]() Rosewill RP500 500W PSU ASUS A7V8X-LA Motherboard (VIA KM400, VIA VT8237 is what it said for chipset) 2.16 Ghz AMD Anthlon 3000 XP processor 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM+ 1GB DDR PC2700 PATRIOT RAM (1.5GB with Both sticks) 160GB 7200 RPM Ultra DMA Hard Drive Thanks again |

Is this the card you have?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161052 If so it is a 4x/8x card and you have a 4x/8x slot. This is a Compaq motherboard right? It should work if not I would clear the cmos try it again if you still get no boot screen RMA it.

Cleared the CMOS and still nothing, I will tinker around with it some more try and see if theres anything going on in the BIOS menu again, if not i i will make preparations to RMA it. At some point i might realize the card is just Messed up.

Re: HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro with ICEQ, CANT BOOT!
I RMAed the video card and got a replacement. GUESS what! it BOOTed and things were GREAT! then i started playing games and they were playing nicely, but then it always ends up with a restart, a graphic glitch/freeze thingy that i always have to end up pressing the power button to restart with. any clues about this new fiasco?
thanks again |
