Palit 8500GT+ Super to Tevion MD81241 Wireless Video Sender - Which cables?
Hi All,
I've recently unearthed a Tevion MD 81241 Wireless Video Sender which I must've picked up on a shopping trip some time ago, and have decided to try hooking my PC up to my old - soon to be replaced - CRT. I'm wondering which cables i'll need for this as there does not seem to be a TV out cable packaged. I've got a Palit nVidia 8500GT+ with DVI, VGA and TV-out connections which I want to connect to the sender. Am I simply looking for a TV-Out to RCA/Phono cable? or should I be looking for something else? Having looked at cables myself, would any of these be suitable to connect the 7 pin TV-Out on the G/C to the female phono/rca sockets on the transmitter? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1572 or these with a cinch cable attached http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-Pin-S-Video-...280246752056QQ I also spotted a DVI to Component cable, but not sure if this would be suitable http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13184 Opinions most welcome |

If your TV supports component it has a much better Video quality than S-Video. But the downside is you will need to find a way to get the audio to the TV.
*Note* Same goes for the S-Video as your Graphics card only supplies the Video. (Unless your Graphics card has jumper terminals for audio which connects to your on-board sound or sound card.)

Re: Palit 8500GT+ Super to Tevion MD81241 Wireless Video Sender - Which cables?
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, some more details on the T.V. that i'll be looking to broadcast the picture too; http://www.shop.philips.co.uk/katalo..._Pixel_Plus_HD Connectivity Ext 1 Scart: Audio L/RCVBS in/outRGB Ext 2 Scart: Audio L/RCVBS in/outS-video in Ext 3: S-video inCVBS inAudio L/R in Ext 4: YPbPrAudio L/R in Ext 5: HDMI Ext 6: HDMI Number of Scarts: 2 Other connections: Headphone outCommon Interface With regards to the sound issue, my soundcard is a very cheap ($10) 5.1 surround sound C-Media CMI8738. As yet I do not have it connected to the graphics card, nor do I know if this is possible. Any further thoughts? as there is very little in the way of online manuals/spec sheets for either of these, should I post pictures of my graphics and sound cards to see if they can be linked? Quote:

The screen is good but you still need a way to supply the sound.
Could you post what type of Graphics card you have so i can tell if your Graphics card is capable of outputting sound.

After look at the card physically there are no jumpers on the card that will give S-Video the audio. You may have to upgrade your Graphics card.
But i am sure there is a device that allows you to connect your PC to a TV Via USB. Try using google and help search.

Okay, thanks for your help.
On another note, I now have and Xbox360 Core and will be getting a PS3 shortly, would I be able to stream to them? and if so, would the graphics card still be an issue? Thanks again |

Under Windows Media Player 11 you are able to share library.
Tools> options > Library "Configure Sharing", then tick the box Share my Media and press ok. You will then be able to allow the Xbox360/PS3 to share the library and watch Videos. The easiest way to to connect your PC and Xbox360/PS3 to a router.
