Buying A New Graphics card
Right now i have an 8400GS(Yuck!). Im planning to upgrade it now.
I want an 8800GT from EVGA. Ive been looking at these: Single Slot: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318 Dual Slot cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130359 I have plenty of room for the dual slot cooler so that is not a problem. Specs on both of them are exactly the same. Price is exactly the same. Which one should i get? Thank you for your help. SPECS: E8400 W/ AC 7 2GB Ballistix 160GB HD 8400GS 512MB OCZ GameXstream 700W Power supply Antec 900 Case |

Re: Buying A New Graphics card
I think the Single Slot cooler is Pci-E x16 only. And the Dualslot one is PCI-E x16 2.0. I heard that a 2.0 graphics card is backwards compatable though.
So will that dual slot graphics card work with my P5K-E? Also why is that one so cheap? There isnt anything different about it is it?(that would make it cheap) |

Re: Buying A New Graphics card
Not really , graphics cards are priced funny lately. It should be fine in a p5k-e so long as you have an nvidia chipset.

Re: Buying A New Graphics card
Hmm, Check to see if theres a specific bios update for your board that allows it to support 2.0 cards. I actually think it will be fine , but check just to be sure.

Re: Buying A New Graphics card
I'm pretty sure all P5K variants use Intel chipsets. The p35 set should work fine with an nvidia card. I can't think of any reason, other than the possibility of SLI, to buy a motherboard with nforce...
