[SOLVED] Worldbuilder screen and "zebra" texturing...I guess.

Hi,

My screenshot is attached. This only occurs in World Builder. Nowhere else does this happen. I'm using World Builder for Battle For Middle Earth 2. When I run any other game I have, Rainbow 6 Vegas, FEAR, TimeShift, BFME2, etc... no problems at all. But in Worldbuilder...this. What you're looking at is flat ground with a river running through. At least, it should be a river; the graphical jibberish appears only in the water effect. And it's jumpy/shifty, like whenever I move the view even slightly, the effect changes location randomly but remains within the river. This is when I move the VIEW, not physically move the monitor...just the view in the program.

My desktop is set to 1440x900 resolution (I have a 19" widescreen) at 32 bit color quality. I already tried changing to 16 bit. And I also downloaded the latest drivers for the 7600GS graphics card I have.

Any ideas? Thank you.

- Eric

How does the final render come out?

Re: Worldbuilder screen and "zebra" texturing...I guess.

SOLVED : I didnt set the height of the water. I'm new at Worldbuilder. So...ok, for those of you who have the same question I did, what happens is Worldbuilder places water at ground height by default (I think). At any rate Worldbuilder tries to render water of zero thickness and the screenshot is what happens. I raised the height (I guess the thickness of the water would be a better description) of the water to just below shoreline height and it looks fine now.
  • Start with flat ground
  • Dig a trench where the water will go
  • Place the water and you may get what looks like the screenshot
  • Raise (increase the thickness/depth/height...I forget) the water in the options menu so it's just below the height of the flat ground surrounding the trench
  • Done
