Whats wrong?!?!
Hello i just purchased an ATI Radeon x1550 and when i read the reviews on it most of them were saying they can play counter strike source on MAx settings with no problems and high fps. Well i have a Dimensions 2400 with 1g of ram (boosted) and that graphics card and when i play source with more than 10 players plus i lagg pretty badly and that is on low settings... Please any input would be nice, Thanks. Also my sister has the same computer as me (dimension 2400) but only 512mb and a GeForce fx5200 which is not even as good as my new one... so i have double the ram and a better graphics card and same everything else and yet she can play counter strike source easily with up to 20 people with about no lag and up to about 40 players with little lag and thats on normal settings and i cant even play 10 people on low settings without lagging pretty bad. Thanks

Re: Whats wrong?!?!
Sounds more like a internet connection problem. Do you have other programs that use the internet running. Any anti virus programs? Anything running that uses exsessive cpu power? Have you tried anything else beside counterstrike?

Re: Whats wrong?!?!
AA = Anti-Aliasing
AF = Anisotropic filtering AA will reduce the number of jaggies, or aliasing, on screen. AF will better filter the textures to help give textures that lead into the distance a sharper appearance. Both come at the price of frame rate.

Re: Whats wrong?!?!
55MBps is my internet connection speed... and i dont know were to turn on or enable AA or AF. But i think i found the problem, my graphics card requires a 450 watt computer suply mine is only 250 watt. So i will be purchasing a new power supply soon but i need to know what type i need or brand or anything else. I have a dimensions 2400 2.4GHz 512mb ram (well now i have 1g) and my service tag is GFX0M81 if any of that helps. BUt last since it will take about a week for a new power supply when ever i get one is there a way to turn down my graphics card so it is not at max setting and it can maybe run right on my computer until my power supply comes?? Thanks,

Well I might suggest removing any extra devices like Sound card (if you have onboard sound) or LAN card (if you have onboard LAN) right? One thing I learned on intel boards is they have settings that throttle back the CPU speed ( which I set at disabled ) Dont know what CPU you have so I cant advise. Always helps to list all your specs Rock On...

Re: Whats wrong?!?!
Well removeing devices won't change its power consumption. The best would be to get a new psu.
For your rig you will need a 400w or higher psu with 18amps on the 12v rail. Stick to brands such as Antec's trio line , thermaltake toughpower line , corsair , silverstone , or coolermaster.

Re: Whats wrong?!?!
Oops I am sorry I thought he said something about getting a power supply in a week or two. And yes i see your point about his needing a power supply as video cards are power hungry. I thinks ther is a guide to choosing power supplies that this forums recommends let me see if I can find it. And I just recently bought an Antec True power trio which works great. :)
Its in the RAM and Power supply support section of this forum :) bye
