ATI x1950 Pro card messed up after driver update
AFter finally deciding to update my ATI cards driver (earlier attemps turned out bad). I got the program from their site, uninstalled the stuff it told me too (i was following a support guide from their site), i then restarted my computer, and activated the new install program. It all seemed to go well, except when i was done my CCC (catalyst Control Center) gave a error that it encountered a problem and needed to close. I tried restarting again, and it still didnt work. I followed some tips online that said to update your .Net, but that did nothing. I then tried to get rid of all old ATI/ASUS files, and also tried re-installing the driver. It turned out to mess up my system even more, and CCC still didnt work. So what it seems to me is that after that new driver installation my computer is very slow, and my cpu is skyrocketing from 40%-100%. This never occured before the new driver... And i have a fairly high end PC so my cpu shouldnt do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: ATI x1950 Pro card messed up after driver update
Boot into Windows Safe Mode (press F8 when you turn it on). And try to uninstall the new drivers. Then, restart normally and try to install the previous drivers that worked.
If the older drivers worked fine then just keep using them.

Re: ATI x1950 Pro card messed up after driver update
Oh. What is the minimum driver version that they require? In other words do they require the latest Catalyst drivers or a few versions prior to the latest? Because if they don't require the very latest then you can try the more recent (but older than the newest) drivers and see which work (and don't).
And is your card an X1950 Pro that is AGP or PCI-E slot?
