You won't know until you try...

Although I haven't heard of that brand. I hope it's not one of those cheapies that cost 20 dollars - those things cause so many problems.

I have already tried it and it works ok but i think i should be getting so much more performance out of it. I go on Call of Duty 4 and shoot the floor with any gun i stay at 125FPS whilst looking at the floor then i go down to 55FPS because of the smoke. Maybe i am expecting too much of this card but i see others on youtube playing games on better settings than mine and recording and still have better FPS.

Here is a link to my PSU i got it with the PC i never upgraded.

Its only about $40

Re: 8800GT Wrong PSU?

Also another thing to add to this i have just been on Call of Duty 4 and my FPS was no different with the lowest possible graphics there is. It still went under 50FPS whilst firing my weapon

Re: 8800GT Wrong PSU?

You'll want to go through the CoD4 settings and switch the settings around. I've found that the defaults don't always give the best performance, and some settings can really kill the performance. I wouldn't go out and buy a new power supply just yet. It took me a while to get the right combination in cod4 as well.

Re: 8800GT Wrong PSU?

Ok thanks for the help i think the PSU is alright as i get 35-45FPS on Crysis with High Settings 4AA and 1024x768 i found that if i remove depth of field on call of duty the FPS stays above 60 :).
