If you could pull the side of the case and check to see if the fan on the video card is running, Is it making any noise?

Re: heating

Did you pop the side cover off and look at the fan on the video card?
Try downloading Sensor View Pro lets see if it reads the same HWM It's a free trial you can uninstall after using. http://www.stvsoft.com/index.php?opt...d=17&Itemid=33
Are you having any video problems IE artifacting or streaking or anything?

Re: heating

I would get a can of compressed air and gently blow out the heat sink and fan area, the cards do run hot mine runs 68-74, 80 seems a little too warm.

Re: heating

85 load as a ceiling is definitely high for the card, but I don't think it'll ruin it. GPUs are made to handle higher temps than CPUs. As wrench mentioned, check the heatsink for blockages, and make sure that NTune has the fan set to increase to 100% speed on load.

If you're still concerned, there are aftermarket coolers you can get for nvidia cards that are easy to install.

Re: heating

if none of these work well your GPU heat sensor is probably malfunctionning, its not like you GPU is going to bust, all youll be getting is some wierd temp readings...
