Re: request for information

The 3850 will go in the board, however from the Sapphire site it requires 32 amps on the 12v rail. What power Supply do you have?
System Requirement:

* AGP based PC is required with one 4X/8X AGP slot available on the motherboard.
* 1GB or greater system memory for better performance.
* 450Watt or greater power supply with 30Amps on 12 volt with 2x4 power connector recommanded.
* Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to http://ati.amd.com/certifiedPSU for a list of Certified products
* Installation software requires CD-ROM drive.
* DVD playback requires DVD driver
* Blu-ray/HD DVD playback requires Blu-ray/HD-DVD drive and playback software.

Re: request for information

Looks like you only have 18 amp on the 12v rail which is pretty much standard for most AGP cards buy since this card is requiring a 32amp rail I would think your going to have problems. Use the certified list if you chose to update the PSU
As for the BluRay drive it's really up to you if you want to watch or burn BluRay movies you'll need it otherwise no you won't need it

Re: request for information

yes im thinking your definatley right on the psu, that was one of the downsides of agp i beleive , hence your advice i will update my power supply to a modern psu aroung the 650 w and inclusive of the propper rail wattage for that card..

and hopefully my computer will be ok...i could update to a modern computer but for what i do with my computer a modern computer would be excessive, i dont download music or films and the only online game i play is black hawk down this game is years old..

your advice has been greatly appreciated and very valuable most computer shops wouldnt give this kind of advice and rather sell me somthing i wouldnt use..thankyou very much m8
