Recently installed a 8600gt xxx, worked perfectly(threw some games at it :)), turned my pc off and came back to my pc after an hour. This is where my Problem starts. When I first turned it on, only my pc did but not my monitor. My monitor just stays with a blank screen with that orange light. I double checked everything if anything was loose and tried again. Still no...
What could be the problem? Specs: http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/del...-31555136.html Instead with 1gb RAM( ) and vista PSU: 305w No I don't know how to do that CMOS thing

Re: New GFX card/monitor problem
Yup, an integrated ATI x300. And yes I did uninstall that before I installed my new one.
EDIT: I think it's my PSU. Anyone recommend a good PSU?(400-500w, Yes, I am cheap )

Re: New GFX card/monitor problem
In the Bios or "System Set Up" check to make sure Primary Video is set to "Auto"

Re: New GFX card/monitor problem
A 305w is too low for the card, but I would expect to see different issues from low power, and if the supply had failed you wouldn't be able to boot with the onboard.
If you could test the card in a friends that would tell you for sure, or you could try reinstalling it to eliminate any seating issue, but I think you may have gotten a bad card. |
