8800GT resolution stuck at 1024x768 - Vista issue?

I've done pretty extensive searching for this already and all the cases that seem to match mine, they are running Vistas well, but anyway, to the problem!

I just put my new computer together today, booted it up, ran fine, installed Vista x64 with no problems. I then proceeded to install the 8800GT nVidia driver. After reboot, the monitor displays the BIOS and Windows loading screen just fine, but after that, the monitor loses signal. All I have to do to get it to display again is unplug and replug from the video card and it shows up again. Annoying to do for every reboot.

Now once I'm in Vista, my max resolution is 1024x768 for my 22" LCD. Its native resolution is 1680x1050. I tried putting 1680x1050 as a custom resolution in the nVidia control panel, but when I apply it, it displays a very low resolution, looks like 800x600 or something.

Here's my computer specs:
Antec 750W PSU
eVGA LGA 775 nForce 750i FTW
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 (4x2.66Ghz, all cores enabled, 64-bit support)
2 eVGA 8800GT 512MB (SLI-enabled)
4 GB DDR2-800 RAM (2x2GB)
Acer 22" 5ms (native res: 1680x1050)
Windows Vista X64

The first thing I installed was the drivers off of the mobo CD, then I went and installed the latest nVidia drivers and restarted it, and that's when this problem started. I've looked in both the Vista display options and nVidia, both are identical as far as resolutions go. Custom resolution doesn't work.

I did find a thread with a possible solution to the monitor losing signal, said for some reason the monitor switches to analog mode, and when you plug it back in, it switches itself back to digital mode. If you leave it unplugged for 10 minutes and reboot it's suppose to fix itself...or something to that extent, I'm at work so I haven't tried it yet.

But I haven't found any solutions for my resolution being limited. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: 8800GT resolution stuck at 1024x768 - Vista issue?

UPDATE: I have uninstalled Vista x64 and installed Vistax32, along with all critical updates and SP1. Problem still persists. Without drivers, I can set my resolution to 1680x1050, with the latest nVidia drivers max resolution is 1024x768. Any ideas?
