Tell us a little about your system.
If OEM(i.e. Dell, HP) brand and model number, if custom Motherboard brand and model, Power supply brand and wattage.

Re: New Graphics Card

There should be a label on the side of the power supply we're looking for total watts and the amps on the 12v rail(s).

Re: New Graphics Card

If you don't want to replace the power supply again I would say a 8600GT or a HD3650 if you prefer ATI any higher is going to require a larger supply and if you game heavy the 430w isn't going to hold up.

Re: New Graphics Card

I have the same psu , you could go with this

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...198&CatId=1826

Same as I got and isn't half bad. Its surprisingly fast for the price and you'll know it'll work with your psu. I wouldn't go any higher tho as far as speed. And stick to pci-e 1.0 cards , I'm pretty sure 2.0 won't work in that. Your lucky its only 70$ after rebate , mine was 180$ last year. lol

Re: New Graphics Card

Yes it supports sm 3.0 and 4.0. And its eqivalent would be an 8600 from nvidia tho I think its faster.

Re: New Graphics Card

Well , its a little faster. But doesn't support dx10 , and won't work with your power supply.

Re: New Graphics Card

9600gt is a PCIEx16 2.0 card is only a problem on some VIA chipset.
8600GT is not, both cards I posted are DX 10 I prefer the 8600 over the 3650
I'm pretty sure the 9600 does not use less power than a x850.

Re: New Graphics Card

Lol , the 9600 uses alot more power then a x850. That would need a 500w or higher.

The only reason I'm agaisnt a 8600 is because its a little more expensive and not quite as fast as a 2600. Thats why I bought the 2600 last year. Higher clock speeds and more stream processors. However the 8600 isn't a bad card and you could with with it if you prefer nvidia.

And I think the 3650 is 2.0. And I think you would be safer going with a 1.0 card. Plus a 3650 is litterally a 2600 with a 3650 badge. They are almost identical.
