video on new computer causing headache

I just purchased a new dell inspiron quattro core with onboard intel 3100 video. This was an upgrad from a 6 year old compaq celeron machine with 4 mb on board -- a big step up. I do almost exclusively business apps, and was happy with the compaq display. However, with my new dell machine, I am using the same monitor --a viewsonic 19' crt A90-- but now have been getting headaches after 10 minutes or so. I have the refresh set at 85 mhz. My research on the internet seems to suggest that the video card should not cause headaches, but I cannot otherwise figure it out why I have the headaches with the new computer, but did not have with the old computer. Could the onboard video be causing my headaches?

If so, I need a new basic video card that could handle 2 monitors in the future and will make this headache go away. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Re: video on new computer causing headache

Try turning it down to 60mhz. I actually get headaches from lcds and find crt's to be easier. Everyones different.

Also hook up your old laptop and make sure that you still don't get a headache.
