Question [SOLVED] Computer keeps on freezing

Hi I'm new here.

Well, anyways, for the last few days my computer has been freezing when I run apps that take up a of of video memory. sometimes the sound stops with it, other times it continues. The only way I can get out of it is by restarting my comp (I can't ctrl+alt+delete out of it). The other day, it froze while starting up (Got stuck at the little green loading bar) but I was curious, so I typed in my password, and it started up, logged me in, and gave me a nice little popup that HP was nice enough to put in my computer. All during this process, the only thing on the screen was the little green bar, stuck about halfway.

What the hell is going on? Any help?

Re: Computer keeps on freezing

What Model HP do you have?
What Operating system are you running?
How much memory do you have installed?

Re: Computer keeps on freezing

Lol. Nvm. I went into my computer and found out that my vid. card was overheating cause of a heat sink/fan combination. Turns out the heatsink was melting the plastic casing around the fan and that was stopping the fan from spinning.
