Re: Fan on Video Card
Just googled and they are about the same (8600GT in SLI require about 22-26A, and 9800GTX need 24A. All on the +12v). So yeah u would get away with replacing them with a 9800GTX

Re: Fan on Video Card
To double check, can you gve us the on the chart, on the side of the PSU? It should have the +/-12v, +/-5v etc listed in 'A' (Amps)

Re: Fan on Video Card
Ok if i'm reading that right, you have 14A on both +12v rails. If thats the case you may actually need to get a new PSU with more Amps on those. Your kinda stretching it as it is.

Re: Fan on Video Card
i had a chance to talk to the guy that built my computer and he said that it will be enough but ill have to upgrade if i wanted to go sli. well i got the card to day and put it in and it powers up fine and runs smooth but now i have a new problem. i have no signal to my monitor. it is all the way in the slot i just dont have to 2 6 pin connectors in cause i cant find a spot to plug them in at. i dont think that is the problem though because the card it working and the fan runs when i shut the monitor on/off. any ideas what could be happening.

Re: Fan on Video Card
The problem is defenitly because you don't have the 2, 6 pin connectors in. check pic below for location of the sockets.
