Not sure about PCIe and AGP

I want to get a new graphics card and I've got four I'm looking at.

ATI Radeon 9550 (Dx 9)
ATI Radeon x1300 (Dx 9c)
ATI Radeon HD 2400 (Dx 10)
ATI Radeon HD 2600 (Dx 10)

The two I'm most looking at are the 9550 and 2600. Except the 9550 is an AGP and the 2600 is a PCIe x16. I don't know which slot(s) I have.

These are the specs that my system properties gives me:
Averatec
3250 series
AMD Athlon XP-M
(LV) 2200+
1.66 GHz, 480 MB of RAM

I can't seem to find any internal specs on my computer though. Do I have to open up the case to find out? If so, where would I look to find the slots?

Re: Not sure about PCIe and AGP

after reading up on your laptop computer, what i can see from the specs and pictures online there is no slot to even install an after market video card into it.

Re: Not sure about PCIe and AGP

Well I currently have a VIA S3g unichrome graphics card. Does that mean anything? I would think it would be one or the other but I could be wrong.

Re: Not sure about PCIe and AGP

That is the built-in graphics chip. I think you are a bit limited here, as you cant even install more RAM. There are no slots for graphics cards either. All those products you listed above are for full desktop computers.
The best plan of action IMHO, would be to buy a new laptop, they dont cost too much these days and the up-to-date models usually allow for some possibility of upgrading to keep up with the technological revolution.

Re: Not sure about PCIe and AGP

yeah laptops are pretty much non upgradable from what ive seen, i avoid em like the clap. only ever buy a laptop if...
1. you need it to be portable
2. if you dont mind buying another in 12-16 months time.

Re: Not sure about PCIe and AGP

Yeah, I found that out. I'll be buying a PC in the near future so I'll come back to this then. Thanks everyone.
