Rediculous heat problems,lag. (7600gt
Hi, I purchased an Nvidia Geforce 7600GT about a two years ago
it worked great, wasn't perfect obviously but much better than stock from dell. Well after about a year and a half i started getting this blue screen problem while playing games, not often but every now and then. It was some Nv4 or something like that and it usually happened after some intense lag. It told me to reinstal my drivers and get them updated. I had the newest version so i just reinstalled them it continued to give me the same blue screen with same error message. Then i started getting intense heat problems and had to play with case open with floor fan blowing directly into the computer or it was give me the blue screen or just crash with no error report. it gets around 80C+ when playing games idles around 65 with fan on full speed feels like you could cook eggs on it. It never did this before. I tried turning the graphics down on some of the games wich worked but on some for instance C&C generals zero hour i turned down to all the way low and low resolution i still get very hot and lag to the point where it just stops and i cant do anything. also when i do lag in some games, it doesnt come in little bits it freezes for a long time repeating the sound that was on when it froze then the sound goes out comes back and then it unfreazes. Sometimes the sound doesnt come back. its really annoying and im wondering why its happening all of a sudden. My computer specs are Pentium 4 3.2, 1.5 gigs RAm, 320 gig hard drive. If you need anymore info please ask so you can help me. Thank You. Last edited by dai; 06-24-2008 at 01:02 AM. Reason: to make easier to read |

check the fans and h/sinks for dust and clean them out with a can of air
check your tempretures and voltages in the bios and post them in the device manager uninstall the card reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode when windows finishes rebooting disable a/virus install your drivers reboot the computer what wattage psu is in it

My BIOS ar really crappy and doesn't show me any voltage stuff or anything like that and i cant change pretty much any setting so if someone can show me where to get better BIOS to install thatd be great, so long as it doesnt screw anything up. this is the info i could find on my PSU
Power Device Type: Power supply Voltage Required: AC 120/230 V ( 50/60 Hz ) Power Provided: 305 Watt dont know if you need anymore info about it or where i could find it. I'll go try that uninstall reboot thing. |

this is underpowered for the system,it would have been ok as the system came but upgrading the video you usually find you need to upgrade the psu as well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b550w you may get more information from this http://pc-wizard-2008.en.softonic.com/
