New build no video signal... Weird problem
Hi guys
Just built myself a new computer spec as follows: Abit IN9 32X-MAX 2 gig OCZ ram Quad core Q6600 Inno3d Geforce 9600 GT Over Clocked Antec 800W PSU Here is my problem: My computer works fine, infact i'm using it now to type this thread however the problem is I'm having to use my old PNY 256mb GFX card as I get no signal with my new one. I know my card works as I've tried it in other machines.. What I've done so far: Updated the BIOS to latest version Cleared Cmos Tried card in PCIe slot 1.. No video signal.. Monitor light remains amber Tried card in PCIe slot 2.. It works! and can get to bios Tried card in PCIe slot 3.. It works! and can get to bios ATX power from PSU is plugged in ATX 12v power from PSU is plugged in Tried different memory and just 1 gig I've ran power from the 6 pins located at back of Video card direct to PSU When the card is in slot 2 or 3 when booting the machine it tells me to move it back to slot 1.. However When I put my old PNY 256mb card into PCIe slot 1 it works fine with no problems.. I'm now at a point where I've had to make a decision! decision..1 ask for help as I have no more hair left to pull out decision..2 Throw it out the window and drop my weights on it However I don't want to do decision 2 "YET" but I am very close! Any help on this would be great people |
