New Graphic card
I have a HP a6130 which has:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 500+ 2.60GHz 32-bit Operating System. And everything else hasn't been upgraded. I chose the PSU and the Graphic card to buy: Corsair VX 450w and the EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB. I just want to make sure that the new PSU and the 8800gts can work in my computer Thanks |

but i calculated some wattages of my computer @ http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp My desktop runs on a 250w power supply(HP a6130n) in perfect stock condition and i don't have a cooler or any output devices. The site told me that I need about 69w boost for the 8800gt(I've changed my mind from the gts). So I was thinking the Corsair VX 450 was going to be fine (396w of max output). |

Re: New Graphic card
when you use the caculator you need to add 30% to the end figure
with the 8800gt you will be in this range http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b650w

Re: New Graphic card
We've seen to many people try to say or get away with 400 watt power supplies , and have them fail only a few weeks later, leaving us saying "I told you so". Lol . Just get a good psu the first time around and you wont have to buy another one.
