Display issues HELP!!! PLZ!
So I bought an EVGA e-GeForce 7950 GT and for a few months it worked fine. It's a PCI-E video card. After about 5 months, the monitor would not bring up the display. After trying everything in my bag of tricks I determined that something must be wrong with the video card.
So I went out and bought a much cheaper Nvidia GeForce 6200 from Wal-Mart just to see if I was right. It is just a regular PCI card... I didn't bother to take out the old card just to test the new one. Fast forward another several months... The display didn't work again, tried all my tricks nothing worked... Then I noticed that the old card was still in there...so for a laugh I plugged the monitor into it, the display came right up. a couple days later it went down again, plugged the monitor into the 6200, display came right up. A couple days the display went down AGAIN, this time...I took the 6200 out and plugged in the 7950...the display came back up. Today the display went out. So I took out the 7950, put the 6200 back in, and now the display is up and I am writing this post. I REALLY want the 7950 to work, someone please help if you know what to do. -Troy Morris Clarksville, TN |

So if you don't know much about computers you probably shouldn't be opening it up and messing with it. Psu stands for power supply. And download everest in my sig and use the report tool and post it here for the rest of your specs.

Try using driver cleaner and remove all the nvidia drivers and reinstall the 7950.
Does the pc only do this when the 7950 is installed? With only the 6200 it doesnt have any problems? This could be a sign that the psu is going.

for the specs all that is needed is
cpu video card m/board power supply brand wattage and not that never ending list you just pick out the relevant parts and post them is this a laptop or a desktop [Motherboard Name Asus M2000N Series Notebook]
