I'm running a BFG 800w PSU and a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 mobo.

the card i want to install is a geforce 9800 GX2, but when i put it in i dont get a boot, no post, nothing. My 8600 works fine though. My guess was that the power supply wasnt putting out enough juice so i have a better one on the way.

Does anyone have any ideas on what other possible causes there could be for this? like i said, my best guess was the PSU, but i'm open to any other suggestions to help get my machine running with all the components i bought for it.

thanks for any help, and i'll post if the new PSU does the trick.

Re: need help with my new video card

Yea definitely try a better psu. Although the wattage is ok , Bfg isn't a very good brand for psu's.
