Getting my TV Out to work from my video card on S Video
I recently installed fresh XP OS on my computer(s). Everything seems to be running great. Besides my P4 2.8 Intel motherboard (D865GBF) stuff - chipset, LAN, & audio - the XP Updates and SP3 were also installed. I attached my TV via the S video cable and the monitor to my ATI Radeon 7500LE 64M SDR PCI card and the computer boots up, though the monitor & the TV (together) do not fire up. They both are blank. When I remove the SVideo cable - & leave the monitor plugged in - the monitor works just fine. It is just a monitor - nothing special - and running on the usual blue pin receptacle out of the card at the PC. Being new at this, I think the blue (not white) plug is the VGA plug - not DVI. Anyway, I installed the drivers from the ATI radeon software disc, the ATI Catalyst Control Center & it's update from Radeon's site. Afterward, my computer recognized the card on boot up. Yet, it still won't fire up my TV. I even tried just the TV attached to the PC and no go. Also, there are no error messages displayed or anything like that. I made the appropriate resolution changes for my monitor. And, like I said, it works good - without the TV attached. I went into the Radeon program trying to turn on the TV and just can't get it to go. I have more than 1 computer with the same exact motherboard, processor and video card configuration. Yet, the same result happens. I am new to the video card thing - as I have not tried to attach a TV to this (these) computer(s) before. Yet, I am told from what I believe to be reliable sources that these cards are compatible with my PC. And, oh yeah, my TV works good from outside sources (DVD). Would someone please help me to get my TV to display from the PC? Thanks.
