Graphics card problem while playing games... maybe
Hello,
I built my first PC a couple of months back and i seem to have a re-occurring problem while playing graphic intensive games. I first came accross this problem when i first built my pc and played Medieval 2. Only happened the once and i thought it was just "one of those things". Now when i play Age of Conan its happening every now and again. The graphics become distorted with green, blue and red dots all over the screen. The game freezes and the sound stutters and then after a few seconds i get the blue screen of death. Here are my system specs: Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. System Model: P31-DS3L BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 871MB used, 3464MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode I have overclocked the cpu to 2.4 and the heat under max load is about 66 C. I cant seem to read my gpu temperature with riv tuner so i dont think it has a sensor but i did a stress test with rthdribl and the problem never re-occurred. The details of the error are: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 124 BCP1: 00000000 BCP2: 84FDC3F0 BCP3: F2000040 BCP4: 00000800 OS Version: 6_0_6001 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 768_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini060208-01.dmp C:\Windows\Temp\WER-27456-0.sysdata.xml C:\Windows\Temp\WERA543.tmp.version.txt So... Anyone knows whats happening here. I'm thinking bad RAM of the gpu? What do you guys think? thanks in advance :) EDIT: My PSU is a Silverstone element ST50EF-PLUS ATX12V 500W Last edited by Scoti; 06-02-2008 at 04:26 PM. |
