VIVO on laptop?
I'm looking at getting a Dell laptop for college (the 6-700 dollar bracket with a 1.8 C2D more than likely), do dells offer VIVO graphics cards? I already have a spare 9 pin VIVO adapter for my nvidia 7800 (i bought a 2 pack), I thought my dad's latitude had VIVO but never could tell (think it had an X300 gfx card).
so, can I get VIVO on a laptop?

Re: VIVO on laptop?
Virtually ANY laptop can do VIVO through USb devices. Also, Dells are crap.

Re: VIVO on laptop?
What devices are there that can convert Svid/RCA over to USB?
My friend's Acer has a 7 pin Svid on a nvidia 7000m, but i think i was only HD, and not vivo (yellow connection).

Re: VIVO on laptop?
I DID give some advise. It's VERY rare for laptops to include VIVO, especially in that price bracket. A USB device can give you that functionality.
I also don't recommend Dells because I repair more of them than any other brand. And don't tell me about "market saturation" being the cause of that. Acer is currently #3 in the world and I've NEVER repaired an Acer. IBMs are worth their weight in gold. HP is slowly turning into a decent company for laptops and computers. Toshiba has plumetted from grace.

Re: VIVO on laptop?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815144016
Something like that would work fine. I remember on my old ThinkPad 770 I could install an upgrade board that gave me hardware MPEG2 acceleration and also allowed VIVO functions! Too bad that laptop itself was so slow....
