Changing the shared memory on my gfx card?

Hey,

I have a Mobile Intel Express 965 w/ GMA X3100 and 358mb shared memory.

I have ran a couple programs to detect what its running and sites like Can you Run it? says i am only using 230.5MB.

I have 3gb on this laptop of ram so i know i have enough to put it to max. I checked BIOS but it doesnt seem to have a option anywhere. Any ideas?

(My laptop is Acer Aspire 6920)

Welcome to tsf. There should be an icon in the control panel for the display to adjust the amount of memory it uses.

Try this,

Right click the desktop then go to properties , then the settings tab. Then click the advanced button. Then in the window that pops up , somewhere in one of the tabs it should have a setting. Thats how it is on my laptop.

Re: Changing the shared memory on my gfx card?

When the video card shares the memory it take away from the system ram and devotes some of it to the graphics card. Since you have 3 gb of ram you can afford to do it. tho it won't make much of a difference in games at all.
